Second Sight Systems Completes Phase 1 of City of Hurst AMI Initiative

Projects like this don’t succeed because everything goes according to plan. They succeed because the right teams show up ready to solve problems.

In October of 2024, Second Sight Systems began Phase 1 of the City of Hurst, Texas, water AMI initiative alongside our partners at Ameresco.

The project began with a hydrovac soft-dig survey of 13,000 water meters, identifying field conditions and preparing the system for a full meter replacement deployment. From that foundation, the project transitioned into mass meter installation across the city, requiring tight coordination between crews, scheduling teams, and data management systems.

Large deployments like this demand more than manpower. They require:

  • Real-time problem solving in the field
  • Strong crew leadership and coordination
  • Accurate, verifiable installation data
  • Clear communication with customers and stakeholders
  • Consistent, high-quality workmanship

Thanks to the partnership between Second Sight Systems, Ameresco, and the City of Hurst, the team was able to navigate challenges, maintain momentum, and deliver results the community can rely on.

A sincere thank you to Ameresco and the City of Hurst for the partnership and trust placed in our team.

We’re looking forward to the next opportunities ahead.
